Windows Vista Support

It’s been a while since the last update to MouseImp code. As recently reported, MouseImp had issues in Windows Vista. I have traced the code and made several modifications to MIPro.DLL in order to fix these issues. It seems now that basic functions work correctly in Vista.

If you detect any bugs or issues, please post them here as a comment to this article.

Note: this version of MIPro.DLL does not support Mozilla FireFox, as I don’t have the source code for the one that does. However, there is an excellent plug-in that does exactly what MouseImp has to do, only in FireFox. It’s called Grab and Drag, and can be downloaded from http://grabanddrag.mozdev.org/

Update: the Vista capable MIPro.DLL is now part of the main distributive. If you are new to MouseImp, you may simply download the full version of MouseImp Pro Live!

Source Code

Please feel free to download and use MouseImp Pro Live! source code. The source lacks MouseImp Pro’s copy protection and some other trialware/evaluation stuff from the commercial version.

The source code can be compiled under Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 SP5. Installation wizard is made with Wise Install Builder 7.04.

The source code is quite old, and it was not supported or updated for a very long time now. They were never perfect in either design or performance. If you have development related questions, you may try reaching the original MouseImp developer by email, at [email protected]. He might be able to help, but makes no promises about that, or even about being able to return your email.
