MouseImp don’t work in Firefox !!!
We are waiting for new releases… %)
Actually, it DOES work in FireFox. Try getting the latest version of MouseImp Pro Live!, and, if it does not do the job in FireFox, update it with “MouseImp Pro DLL” download. Note: you might have to restart your computer after that.
I installed latest MouseImp PRO Live! and newest DLL.
Vertical scrolling in Firefox is working now, but not horizontal ðŸ™
Yes, horizontal scrolling doesn’t work in FireFox. Volunteer developers are urgently needed 🙂
This lovely utility has been with me since the down of time – thanks for bringing it back to life 🙂
It seems to be a great tool, but the horizontal scrolling does not work in opera. ðŸ™
Could you improve it, so both scrolling directions can occur SIMULTANEOUSLY?
elfranche,
I believe, the scroll can be made in both directions by enabling the Options – Directscroll – Bidirectional feature.
Nice try
I installed the latest version, but still it doesn’t work with firefox ðŸ™
Did you get the updated “MouseImp Pro DLL” from the download section? It actually solves the problem (you might need to restart Windows in order for MouseImp to start using this DLL instead of the original one).
I mean, simultanously!! Such that I can scroll diagonally… this would essentially make the mouse control the entire window’s background. superb for scrolling over large photos!
cheers,
elfranche
Hi,
Does it work only on Internet Explorer, where can I see the system requirements of the tool please?
I tried searching in the Firefox extension, to download it from there too.
Thanks!
Karl
MouseImp works in virtually all Windows applications that are using scrolling.
Anyone know how to use a 4th mouse button with this. It only supports the Left/Right/Middle. Any options to pick a different button?
For firefox, try scrollbaranywhere firefox add-on.
Great tool.
I’m using it since end of 1999 (7 years).
Thanks a lot for bringing it back.
Releasing it as open souce gave the immortality to this nice utility.
Hi, I just installed Vista and FIRST software I tried to install was MouseImp Pro. Really !!! I can’t imagine windows without this feature. MouseImpPro doesn’t work (actually it works, but most of new opened windows/applications fails).. so I started to search on web and I found this page. It’s great that MouseImp is not dead ! I’ll try MouseImp Pro Live today evening on Vista, but I don’t think it will run… will see.
So the result is that MouseImp Pro Live works in Vista, but it also can’t be running because other applications are very unstable and often fails during start ðŸ™
If I had money, I would order a computer programer for develeping and improving this realy useful soft… but now it is only one hope to volunteers…
Mouseimp *MUST* survive!!!!!!!!!!!111
Once again PLEASE! make it scroll in both directions SIMULTANEOUSLY! it would essentially behave like a ball mouse, i.e. in all directions, but whilst controlling the scrollbars.
Hello,
I can confirm that mouseimp pro does not work properly with Windows Vista. Is there a plan to make it compatible with Vista? I very much like this software and hope a way will be found to update it.
I am yet to install Windows Vista. I will surely try to do what is possible to make MouseImp work with it, but no guarantees…
Vista issue confirmed. I’ll try to resolve MouseImp and Vista compatibility.
On Vista, MouseImp seems to work only in applications that have the same UAC level as MouseImp. Any fix for that?
Not a fix, but a workaround. Run MouseImp with administrative privileges: right-click on its icon, select “Security” tab, and check the “Run this program as an administrator” checkbox.
Cause: MouseImp registers its hook DLL by attaching to the processes that are running, so it requires same or higher level of UAC as these applications.
it’s been so long for the office 2007 support, thanks for the update! I just tried the latest dll, something to report to make it perfect in the future:
*I’m using winxp sp2, combined office 2007 (word, excel, powerpoint) and 2003 (outlook).
word 2007: I use right button to active the scroll, after one or two scroll, new dll always cause high CPU usage and semi-hang-up for about ~10 seconds, then mouse courser can be moved but still in “hand” shape, as if I’m still in the scroll mode, then after another ~5 seconds all come back to normal. This will happen again and again and make the scroll in word2007 completely un-acceptable.
excel and powerpoint 2007: so far so good.
outlook: I’m using outlook 2003 but not 2007, with the old dll everything is fine; after install the new dll, I just can’t scroll in the main email list window, but some other window in outlook are still ok.
Update: the new build (17-Jun-2007) is supposed to fix this.
Hi, first I want to say thank you for the update & thank you for keeping Mouseimp.
It works on the horizontal scroll, but sometimes it stucks with scroll mode until I press ctrl-alt-del.
One request of feature if possible: option to make the cursor stay on one point when scrolling. I believe this feature should be implemented in “Grab and Drag” Firefox Add-on, I often losing the ability to scroll when the cursor gets to the toolbar.
> …sometimes it stucks with scroll mode…
Confirmed. I’ll be fixing this in a few days.
I tried this updated DLL in XP and had no results. Does not work at all for me. Close MouseIMP, reverted back to the original DLL and it’s working fine again.
> I tried this updated DLL in XP and had no results. Does not work at all for me.
Hmm, that shouldn’t happen. I’ll give it more testing under XP, yet I don’t have the 2007 Office on my XP machine.
Update: tested on XP; the new DLL works fine. As I said, I don’t have MS Office 2007 there, so could not test this part on XP.
> I’m using winxp sp2, combined office 2007 (word, excel, powerpoint) and 2003 (outlook).
Thanks for the update again, I’ve download the new dll (17-Jun-2007), now outlook 2003 “main mail list window” issue is clear, word 2007 hangup issue is also improved: the hang-up happen less and recover quicker—now I can keep the new dll for my daily use and test more 😉
one new question for the two version of office2007 beta: it seems I can’t use horizontal scroll at all, in any of my word/excel/ppt 2007, but it’s ok in outlook 2003 and windows explorer. (I already checked “bidirection” in direct scroll tab) in explorer.
thanks
Horizontal scrolling currently does not work in the Office 2007 applications, so I chose to disable it in the MouseImp code. This reduced the frequency of the lockups as well. I’ll be testing it some more this week to eliminate the lockups altogether, with horizontal scrolling being down the list of priorities.
In Maxthon when list page backward (from down to up) SO SO LAGING ! Old dll work perfect.
27 June Update: the new DLL fixes lock-ups in the Office 2007 applications. Should also take care of the Office 2007 applications in Windows XP and older operating systems, but I can’t test this as I don’t have Office 2007 on my XP machine.
Thanks aoleg, the June.27 dll works very good in my word/excel/ppt2007 now, CPU usage of MouseImp is 0% even when I keep scrolling in any office app above. By adding horizontal scrolling I think it will be perfect.
What’s next? maybe scroll in firefox2? 🙂
FireFox scrolling may be the next thing (though I for one am happy with FF Grab’n’Drag plugin), but horizontal scrolling in the Office 2007 apps is very unlikely. Right now, MouseImp simply acts as a mouse “wheel”, thus can only do up and down.
“FireFox scrolling may be the next thing…”
Please do consider that. I have an issue with Grab and Drag, which is when it losts the scrolling as soon as the cursor hits the toolbar. I already contacted the author about this but no reply is sent, so I’m not hoping much.
And for other future reference, perhaps:
Auto scroll option for all windows – like when user clicks middle mouse button in FireFox.
Anyways, good luck & thank you for the update.
Very good program but… I was so sad when I recognized that it does not work in Firefox! 🙂
So, I ask for support in Firefox window and every other applications!
MouseImp for all programs!
This is great!! All this years I thought Mouseimp was extinct. This is a vital application for all of us who don’t like (hate) the use of scrollbars. I just tested it and it’s working fine in Office 2007. It’s not working in firefox with we can live with Grab n’Drag. It would be really nice if you could make it work in Opera 9. Best Regards!!
there is version which works in Opera
http://cooler.irk.ru/mouseimp/
this one doesn’t – what a heck …
I don’t have the source code for Opera as only the binary was provided by a contributor, hence I had to modify the original MouseImp.
MouseImp!! this software is very good
I’m using tablet..so I have problem with scrolling..
but finally, I got MousImp.. It’s over!
I tried this updated DLL in XP and had no results. Does not work at all for me. Close MouseIMP, reverted back to the original DLL and it’s working fine again.
yes. thank you very much indeed for mouse imp and the benefits it has brought me over a long time. i refer people to a related discussion here: http://www.gottabemobile.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=4167&PN=1
I don’t have the source code for this version, so unfortunately I can neither get Opera code from it nor add support for Vista and Office 2007 to it. So if you’re using Opera and not using Vista & Office 2007, then by all means get that DLL.
It’s seems the AutoShrink function of MouseImp Live has some issue on my computer.it not work completely, I set it to Shrink Photoshop, but when photoshop start, nothing be Shrinked .in old 1.2.0.49 it works fine.
My OS is windows XP Pro SP2 simplified chinese.
In uTorrent 1.7.5 if I scroll whith MouseImp in the main window or the RSS window when I close that window the program crashes. In their forum people report the same problem with versions 1.7 1.7.1 was fixed by updating their MIpro.dll but I tried and it did not help with 1.7.5 . I suggest adding some sort of ignore list so users can set MouseImp not to hook in some applications.
Also I am using Office 2003 and MouseImp Pro Live only scrolled vertically so I am now using the http://www.mouseimp.com/mipro.zip dll with which it scrolls both ways.
OS: Win2k SP4
zero: I am pretty sure I haven’t modified anything regarding AutoShrink. However, I am seeing more and more reports saying that one or another piece of MouseIMP functionality stops working after my modifications are applied. That’s strange… maybe I don’t have the latest source code after all?
I have used MI for five or six years. It’s an excellent tool.
Thank you!
I Appreciate your works!
Can I enable mouseIMP in Opera 9? How do I use .dll file?
Great aplication, thank you!!
Vlada,
Opera support is coming after the New Year thanks to Oleksa Borodie who implemented the Opera compatibility feature.
That’s great news about Opera support returning to MouseImp Pro Live! Any idea when the update will be available? regards…
That’s been done: the new version that supports both Opera and Firefox is online.
i found this program on internet lately and it really useful for me.
thanks a lot for your contribution.
Started using it since the times when mice did not have scrolling wheels. But even with a scroll wheel this app saves me lots of time.
BTW, in case anyone did not know – if your mouse has a scroll wheel, *clicking* the wheel will turn on auto-scrolling mode in most apps, such as Opera, Firefox, IE, MSWord, Excel, OpenOffice, Windows Explorer, Konqueror. For Firefox on Linux you first need to enable ‘automatic scroll’ which is off by default.
Please add/fix horizontal scroll for Excel 2007.
It is my primary reason for using MouseImp.
Please add/fix horizontal scroll for Firefox 3.X .
…^_^…
Thank a lot !
For horizontal scrolling in firefox I use ” Grag and Drag ”
It is set to use the left mouse button and only on non text
areas, This allows horizontal scrolling while still allowing
the text highlight function.
It is a workaround but is better than nothing.
I have used mouseimp since before it was freeware and
cannot live without it.
BTW: it will work on Windows 7 x86 (32 bit )but not on Windows 7 x64 ( 64 bit )
Note to Mazola: Please fix Firefox to work properly! with
MouseImp
I can confirm that MIMP works on Win 7 Ultimate it creates a lot of other problems and that the explorer keeps crashing. At least that is the only solution I found – uninstall it in safe mode!
I just wish and pray that someone would come up with a compatible version. I am so used to it! Without it I am practically miserable.
Does anyone know any ALTERNATIVE tool?
Because, latest (on current data) downloaded version of MouseImp still does not work under Windows 7.
ё-моё!
Hi,
First thank you so much for your really good software.
MouseIMP really speeds up my works in computer.
But unfortunately MouseIMP don`t support Opera 10.51 version and Google Chrome. So I decide install old version of Opera witch is my favour web browser. I will wait for new version of MouseIMP.
It’s a pre-release version; if everything works OK, I’ll update the installer.
BTW, the new DLL is reported to work on Windows 7 32-bit. It also adds support for Chrome and Visual Studio 2010.
The new .dll did not work for horizontal scrolling in Firefox
Hi,
thank you for your software. too
both Opera 10.51, Chrome works fine, on Windows 7 32-bit
Can U add the support of MS Office2010 (OneNote2010, Voiso2010, Project2010)
Installed the new dll. Works super fine in Visual Studio 2010 on Windows XP 32bit, but not in Office 2007. If it works in Office 2010 I’ll be satisfied with that 🙂
This is one of the essential utilities I cannot live without actually. Really appreciate your work and continous support!
Sorry for being unspecific regarding Office 2007. It seems to work fine in Word and Excel, but in Outlook I can’t scroll the message list, but the mail windows works fine.
O-O ^.^: Nope. Full source code is available anyway.
aoleg : But I did not find the source code link.
Thanks!
Works well with VS 2010.
It’s fine if mouseimp implement an exluded program list or individual settings for programs.
I don’t want mouseimp to works with some programs, and there is no way to do this.
For example, I use an addon called Grab and Drag to instead of mouseimp, and free the right mouse button to work with another addon which called FireGestures. But now I can’t do this when mouseimp is running.
MouseImp don’t work in Firefox !!!
